What We Do

~ Collins 22 Society Founding ~

In 2002 Ballingarry Fine Gael Br. members took a decision to Sponsor the ‘Collins 22 Society’ as a national movement.

This decision was inspired by the dedication of the Beal na Blath commemoration committee led by Frank Metcalfe, their friends throughout Cork, especially Clonakilty and the many supporters of that AUGUST 22nd. gathering from around the country,.....we, like them, felt it is possible that the sacrifice of Michael Collins might be discarded to the dustbin of history. 

We also decided to set up a web site dedicated to Michael Collins life, essentially to have an internet presence and as a source of information.

Because of this unprecedented interest, the society has established Branches throughout Ireland and also in the UK. Interest has grown worldwide, and the Society is now looking expanding into other countries.
